What to watch out for
Grout usage rises with joint width and tile thickness, and falls with tile size. Large porcelain on a thin joint needs very little.

kg/m² = (Tile length + Tile width) ÷ (Tile length × Tile width) × Tile thickness × Joint width × 1.8

Frequently asked questions
How much grout does 1 m² of tiles take?
Usage rises with the joint width and the tile thickness and falls with the format. Large-format porcelain with a narrow joint takes very little; mosaic takes a lot.
Which tile dimensions do you enter?
The length, width and thickness of one tile, plus the joint width. Those four numbers give the volume of the joints in a square metre, and from that the kilograms.
